About me

Ruby Smits is a Special Education teacher with over 27 years servicing Hawaii’s Special Education students. With expertise as a Special Education Department Head, Ruby specializes in supporting new teachers with organizational skills for managing IEP caseloads and implementing curriculum effectively. Currently, Ruby serves as a Special Education State Office Mentor Teacher with the Hawaii Teacher Induction Center, furthering her impact on teacher development and support statewide.
