About me
Amy Peterson, MA, is a senior researcher at American Institutes for Research (AIR) with more than fifteen years of experience conducting public policy and education research, communications, and professional development. Her primary responsibilities include leading teams focused on universal technical assistance for the National Center on Intensive Intervention (NCII), the PROGRESS Center and MTSS Center at AIR. She supports schools, districts and states in defining and refining their MTSS frameworks and special education services. Her areas of interest and expertise include MTSS, intensive intervention, selecting and implementing evidence-based practices, implementation fidelity, stakeholder engagement and collaboration, continuous improvement and data-based decision making, IEP development and implementation, early warning systems, and dropout prevention. Peterson holds a masters degree in education policy from George Washington University.
